Wicked A Wicked Trilogy Volume 1 Jennifer L Armentrout 9780988982956 Books
As I’ve said many times, I will read anything Jennifer L. Armentrout writes. WICKED was an awesome ride into the largely uncharted New Adult Paranormal frontier, and who better to lead the charge than JLA?Evil, bloodthirsty fae were the subjects of this new book, and boy, were they creepy. Our two heroes, Ivy and Ren have quite a job trailing fae and figuring out who is the big bad behind all the ruckus in New Orleans. Not to mention Ivy and Ren have undeniable and palpable chemistry. As in any good JLA book, there’s romance a plenty, but there are also great action scenes and lots of supernatural elements, including a fun side character in the form of a tiny, sassy, winged faerie.
Content wise, this is New Adult, so there’s some language, some sex, and violence. Not by any means the worst I’ve read, but it’s a step beyond her YA series (though not as much sex as her NA Contemporary). All in all a very fun, fast-paced, thrilling read that will please any Paranormal Romance fan.

Wicked A Wicked Trilogy Volume 1 Jennifer L Armentrout 9780988982956 Books Reviews
My first time reading a fae book and it definetly left a good first impression. First off, I love Ivy's personality. She don't take any crap from any one and that itself says that Ivy has a dominate personality; which I love by the way. I love how strong hearted of a person she is because she's loyal, almost to a fault.
Ren...what a yummy character. New to the area, Ren has show that he's compassionate and strong. Physically and mentally. But don't let that fool you because Ren as scars along with other characters. But is not what makes him different. I love how Ren didn't go all "alpha-male" on Ivy. He knew when to step back and let her make her own choices and that just shows how mature he is. Ivy's personality was more of a act-now-think-later and because of her personality, Ren showed that he trusted Ivy with her decisions.
JLA was one the authors I found after diving more into romance and YA paranormal and she has quickly become an author that I’ll always buy books from. From everything she has written, I’ve loved her paranormal and sci-fi series the most and Wicked tops as one of my favorite series.
In Wicked we’ve got a new world to discover dealing with fae, pixies, and other Otherworld creatures. Plus set it all in the heart of New Orleans, there’s bound to be some sort of shenanigans going down. Keep the beignets coming because Ivy is obsessed with them!
True to JLA fashion, Ivy makes another bada** heroine to absolutely love. Even though Ivy can hold her and is utterly independent, there’s still a lot of growth in her character as her story progresses. And that’s one of my favorite things I loved to read about when it comes to JLA’s heroines. Ivy understands pain more than anyone, it was so unbearable that she refuses to let herself be open to that again. Being a part of the Order and balancing the life of a college student, she has more than enough on her plate. And let’s not forget her Prime obsessed sidekick, Tink, to keep things even more interesting.
And it’s not too long when the ever so strong and beautiful green-eyed man that is Ren slams into her life. The chemistry is there between them almost instantly, they just have to be standing in the same room and you’d be able to feel it radiating off of them. There’s a bit of a mystery to Ren since he has recently transferred to the New Orlean sect, however there’s a big reason he’s there but isn’t revealing much. If Aiden and Daemon made a baby, you’d get Ren! Another hero to swoon over, who loves twisting Ivy’s words, and you’ll just add another book boyfriend to add to your evergrowing list!
I loved how action packed it was and constantly leaving me with so many questions, plus it’s always my favorite to play the guessing game of who did what. There’s seriously a lot of secrets being held in this book between quite a few characters. I thought it was easy to predict a few things here and there by the end; just some good ole plot twists to put you through a loop.
So yeah, JLA does it again with this phenomenal start to her Wicked series, thankfully there will just be three books in this series and absolutely can’t wait to read the next!
Ivy Morgan is part of the Order. They're in charge of eliminating the Fae. She moved to New Orleans four years ago after suffering her own tragedy back home. She's staying away from any romantic involvement until day she wakes up, after getting hurt, to a pair of beautiful green eyes. Getting away from Ren Owens might not be as easy as she thought.
Ren is in town to take care of the Fae but he's also hiding more secrets that he won't share with Ivy. Lives and the future of the world are in danger. When Ivy and Ren are paired together to fight the evil, secrets can not be a part of their relationship if both of them want to survive.
Wicked has been added to my series to watch. I like both main characters. Ivy was ready for a fight and her hate for the Fae was understandable. She doesn't want to love anyone else because she doesn't want to loose them but some people or some things still get into her heart despite her best laid plans.
I love the addition of Tink. He reminded me a little bit of Jenks from the Kim Harrison's series.
"You wouldn't lie to me, would you, Tink?"
"No." He grinned. "You have Prime."
And let's talk about Ren. Great description, great eyes ( just like Daemon), great personality and is a seriously dangerous fighter whom you want on your team. The secrets he was hiding didn't make me dislike him. It was his duty to do so.
I love JLA's books. They NEVER disappoint me. It doesn't matter if it has aliens (Daemon Black I LOVE YOU!), awesome college guys (CAM), soulless creatures (ROTH) or an awesome Sentinel (AIDEN). She is a one-click for me.
I can't wait for the next book in this series.
Cliffhanger YES
4/5 Fangs
